Type to Learn 4 Web version users and Trial downloads: Go to the FULL VERSION section and select either the Mac or Win file to download. Download times vary greatly, but may take approximately 30 minutes or longer, depending on the speed of your connection.

After downloading and installing the program, login to the application with your username, password, and account code sent to you when you purchased or signed up for your web version account. If you do not have an account code, please contact our Customer Service department at: 1-800-321-7511 Mon-Fri 8am to 4:30pm Central time.

Student use at home procedures: (For those who have the Web version at school and wish to access their account from home) Does NOT apply to Network or Standalone customers. For students instructed to use at home; download and install the appropriate FULL VERSION program onto your home computer(s) i.e. Windows or Mac.

After downloading and installing the program, login to the application with your username, password, and account code which should have been supplied to you by the teacher or school admin.

Version Information

>Client systems

(includes all network, web and standalone)

Client v1.0 Original release version. Began shipping August, 2008, also made available for immediate download from the website. Version displayed on login screen in lower right-hand corner. CD ROM displays version v1.0.

Client v1.1 (Erroneously displays on login screen as 2.0) Released and made available for download December, 2008. Patches were available via download ONLY; no CD ROMs display this version info. Version displayed on login screen in lower right-hand corner.

Client v1.2 Major update and bug-fixes. Began shipping September, 2009, also available for download at the same time. Version displayed on login screen in lower right-hand corner. CD ROM displays version 1.2. A list of issues addressed in version 1.2.0 may be downloaded here.

Client v1.2.1 ? Minor updates and bug-fixes. All known issues address and new features added. Made available for download January, 2010. A list of issues addressed in version 1.2.1 may be downloaded here.

*If your client login screen displays ANY other version than those listed above, it is due to a failed update which must be reinstalled. Download the latest patches for the client software from this page for your operating system.

>Servers

Server v1.0 Original release version. Began shipping in August, 2008. CD ROM displays version 1.0n on both Disk1 and Disk2.

Server v1.1 Major update made available for download December, 2008.

Server v1.2 Major update made available and began shipping September, 2009. CD ROM displays version 1.2n on both Disk1 and Disk2.

Server v1.2.1 Minor updates and bug-fixes. All known issues addressed and new features added. Made available January, 2010.

Minor releases have been made available to address specific issues between major updates and should be treated as the version displayed on the test page. To view the Server version info, open a web browser and enter the IP address and port where TTL4 server is installed. For more information, refer to the User Guide or Quick Installation Guide.

Software Updates

Before downloading any of the software updates on this page, please verify your version TYPE and number (i.e. Web v1.0) etc.

>TTL4 Client Updates

(Standalone, Network and Web including HOME versions)

All client versions may be upgraded to the latest version (v1.2.1) regardless of their current version number with the following updates.

TTL4 1.2.1 Client Upgrade - Mac - All Versions (51MB)
This is the 1.2.1 Client Upgrade for the Macintosh version of Type to Learn 4. This upgrade is for all versions (web, network, standalone and home versions). Install this upgrade over previous versions of Type to Learn 4 such as 1.0 or 1.1.

TTL4 1.2.1 Client Upgrade - Windows - All Versions (28.5MB)
This is the 1.2.1 Client Upgrade for the Windows version of Type to Learn 4. This upgrade is for all versions (web, network, standalone and home versions). Install this upgrade over previous versions of Type to Learn 4 such as 1.0 or 1.1.

>TTL4 Network Server Updates

(Network version customers ONLY)

Before proceeding with any server update, review the upgrade instructions PDF which can be downloaded from the top of this page: *Remember to backup your database files on the server (Sunburst\TTL4OnRails\DB\) before updating.*

If you currently have version 1.0n and have not yet patched to any later version you must first upgrade to version 1.1n with the following updates:

TTL4 1.1 Network Server Upgrade - Mac - Network Version (301KB)
This is the 1.1 Network Server Upgrade for the Macintosh version of Type to Learn 4. This upgrade is ONLY for Network customers who have already installed version 1.0 of Type to Learn 4 from the CDs. This upgrade gets installed to your server.

TTL4 1.1 Network Server Upgrade - Windows - Network Version (370KB)
This is the 1.1 Network Server Upgrade for the Windows version of Type to Learn 4. This upgrade is ONLY for Network customers who have already installed version 1.0 of Type to Learn 4 from the CDs. This upgrade gets installed to your server.

If you currently have version 1.1n and have not yet patched to any later version you must first upgrade to version 1.2n with the following updates:

TTL4 1.2 Network Server Upgrade - Mac - Network Version (114MB)
This is the 1.2 Network Server Upgrade for the Macintosh version of Type to Learn 4. This upgrade is ONLY for Network customers who have already installed version 1.1 of Type to Learn. This upgrade gets installed directly on your server. *This update will fail if the original installation is not in the default location. Please contact our Tech Support department if you are unable to apply this update.

TTL4 1.2 Network Server Upgrade - Windows - Network Version (390KB)
This is the 1.2 Network Server Upgrade for the Windows version of Type to Learn 4. This upgrade is ONLY for Network customers who have already installed version 1.1 of Type to Learn. This upgrade gets installed to your server. *This update will fail if the original installation is not in the default location. Please contact our Tech Support department if you are unable to apply this update.

This is the most recent server update as of 2/1/10: You must have already updated to version 1.2.0 PRIOR to installing this patch.

TTL4 1.2.1 Network Server Upgrade - Mac - Network Version (227KB)
This is the 1.2.1 Network Server Upgrade for the Macintosh version of Type to Learn 4. This upgrade is ONLY for Network customers who have already installed version 1.2 of Type to Learn. This upgrade gets installed directly on your server. *This update will fail if the original installation is not in the default location. Please contact our Tech Support department if you are unable to apply this update.

TTL4 1.2.1 Network Server Upgrade - Windows - Network Version (389KB)
This is the 1.2.1 Network Server Upgrade for the Windows version of Type to Learn 4. This upgrade is ONLY for Network customers who have already installed version 1.2 of Type to Learn. This upgrade gets installed to your server. *This update will fail if the original installation is not in the default location. Please contact our Tech Support department if you are unable to apply this update.

Due to the size of these downloads, if you are installing on multiple computers, download the file once. Then distribute the file locally. Ways you could do this: save to a network drive, flash drive or burn it to a DVD.

Full Versions

We recommend employing a download manager or using a browser which will automatically resume downloads in the event of a failure. *Internet Explorer, among others, will NOT automatically resume on incomplete downloads.

>Macintosh Users

These files are zipped and should automatically unpack on almost all OSX operating systems. Launch the installer by double-clicking on the contained file in your downloads or documents folder. The contained files will be in MPKG format for installation to the Mac OS.

Full TTL4 Application - Mac - Web Version v1.2.1 (944.65MB)
This is the complete Macintosh Web version v1.2.1 of the Type to Learn 4 program. Download this if you are a Network, Web or Trial customer and have not already downloaded or installed any previous version of Type to Learn 4.

>Windows Users:

(Do NOT choose open or run when prompted, instead choose save.)

To download, click on the link and choose SAVE rather than open or run. After downloading, right-click on the zipped file and choose Extract. Double-click on the extracted file to launch the installer. Click Next through the few prompts. Installation is very straightforward. Once installed, launch the application by clicking Type to Learn 4 in your Start menu or desktop shortcut.

This is the complete Windows Web version v1.2.1 of the Type to Learn 4 program. Download this if you are a Network, Web or Trial customer and have not downloaded or installed any previous version of Type to Learn 4.
